چکیده

The dependence of the transmission coefficient on the deformation, the collective rotation and excitation energy of the compound nucleus emitting light particles is introduced in the framework of Weißkopf’s evaporation theory. The competition between fission and particle evaporation is treated by a Langevin equation for the fission variable coupled to the emission process. Detailed calculations are presented on the decay of different Gd and Yb isotopes at an excitation energy of about 250 MeV. These calculations demonstrate the importance of the effects of nuclear deformation and of the initial spin distribution on the evaporation. ∗Partially supported by the Polish State Committee for Scientific Research under contract No. 2 P302 052 06

The 46 Ti * compound nucleus, as populated by the fusion-evaporation reaction 27 Al + 19 F at the bombarding energy of E lab = 144 MeV, has been investigated by charged particle spectroscopy using the multidetector array ICARE at the VIVITRON tandem facility of the IReS (Strasbourg). The light charged particles and high-energy γ-rays from the GDR decay have been measured in coincidence with sel...

Ellipsoidal shape fluctuations of the compound nucleus

Hot rotating compound nuclei are modeled as ellipsoidally shaped liquid drops. A formalism for the determination of their equilibrium shape distribution is presented. Commonly used metrics associated with the volume element in deformation space are derived with a discussion of their underlying assumptions. Example calculations of shape distributions are presented. These distributions are not ch...

Strong Deformation Effects in Hot Rotating

Exotic-deformation effects in 46 Ti nucleus were investigated by analysing the high-energy γ-ray and the α-particle energy spectra. One of the experiments was performed using the charged-particle multi-detector array ICARE together with a large volume (4 " ×4 ") BGO detector. The study focused on simultaneous measurement of light charged particles and γ-rays in coincidence with the evaporation ...

Emission of unstable clusters from hot Yb compound nuclei

Neutrons and isotopically resolved light charged particles have been detected in coincidence with evaporation residues produced in the reaction E/A511 MeV Ni1Mo. Multiplicities of evaporated particleunstable clusters have been determined from correlations in the emission of these light particles. The decay of the short-lived He and Be (E*53.04 MeV) states was found to be affected by the Coulomb...
